Build the programming foundation
B1, programming constructs, debugging and data structures. These foundations have been covered; search algorithms are now under way.
Build fluency early. Revisit it often. Finish new content before the DP2 winter break and protect time for assessment preparation.
DP1 school dates are available. DP2 dates and holiday buffers remain provisional until the 2027–28 school calendar is confirmed. The sequence may change as the class progresses.

Complete searching, sorting and efficiency, then A1 representation, logic, architecture and system software. Maintain programming every week. Future weekly timing is proposed.
Move through A2 and A3, with practical SQL and continued Python. Work around Spring Festival and the March PD day.
B3 OOP, programs with persistent data, introductory A4, and IA problem exploration. Schedule the collaborative sciences project with the school.
Develop advanced OOP, machine learning and B4 abstract data types while supervising IA work. Target completion of examinable content before winter break.
Target IA completion on 21 January, then case-study research, full-paper practice, mocks and individual remediation. Teaching plan runs through 21 April; exam dates remain unconfirmed.
Specify a problem, design an algorithm, and build a reliable Python solution.
Choose and use structures according to how information must be accessed.
Design, trace and compare searching and sorting algorithms, then develop HL recursion.
Connect data representation, logic, hardware and system software.
Explain how computers communicate and how communication is protected.
Model related data and query it accurately.
Organize larger programs around clear responsibilities and interacting objects.
Investigate how models learn from data and how to evaluate their results.
Implement richer structures and reason about their operations.
