Revise Prototype 2 using evidence
| TODAY’S ASSESSMENT CRITERION D | FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT Criterion D only: make a focused revision from player evidence, test it again, and explain whether it improved the game. |
For this handout, your teacher records a score for Criterion D only. The other criteria are not being graded on this task.
Key words you need today
| WORD | WHAT IT MEANS |
| revision | a purposeful change made to improve a design |
| test result | what happened when players used the changed version |
| successful | a change that solves the identified problem without creating a worse one |
Follow these steps
| 1 | State the evidence. Write the player problem exactly. Example: ‘Two players did not understand how to draw a card.’ |
| 2 | Consider two fixes. Sketch or list two possible changes. Choose the one most likely to solve the problem with available time and materials. |
| 3 | Make Prototype 2. Change the rule, board, cards, or components. Label the new version clearly. |
| 4 | Test the change. Run a short new test. Record whether the player problem improved, stayed the same, or created a new issue. |
Record your thinking

| Fix option 1… Fix option 2… ________________________________________________________________________________ |

Criterion D rubric • score out of 8
| SCORE | WHAT YOUR WORK SHOWS |
| 7–8 | I use evidence strategically to make and evaluate a well-justified revision that noticeably improves the game. |
| 5–6 | I use evidence to make a practical revision and test whether it improves the player experience. |
| 3–4 | I made a change, but the link between evidence, fix, and result is unclear. |
| 1–2 | My revision is missing or is not connected to evidence. |
