Show who needs the solution, what you researched, what existing examples taught you, and how the findings guide the project.
Develop a proposal for a useful connected device, supported by your working LED prototype. Your earlier work is part of this project.
Bring your connected-product research, working blink sketch and One LED three messages work. Keep Part A unchanged. For Part B, reuse your research, working blink sketch, One LED three messages work, and previous worksheet. Use short bullet points or a small table. No new planning drawings, system diagrams, flowcharts, or technical drawings are required.
Use only the working ESP32, computer, LED and existing wires/setup for practical work. Keep any existing current-limiting resistor. Additional sensors, paid services and a working cloud connection are not required for this A/B assessment.
The summative is your current task. Use your existing research and design worksheets as supporting evidence.
Supporting evidence: reuse this completed worksheet; add only missing evidence or brief updates.

8–20 October · Three class meetings · Final submission 20 October at 20:00 China time.
These are the planned teaching dates. The final summative cutoff is 20 October at 20:00 China time. This plan is shown on the website; use the matching Toddle assignments to submit.
| When | In class or at home | Bring or finish |
|---|---|---|
| Holiday preparation | Finish your current lesson. Spend about 30 minutes gathering missing research for the A worksheet. | Bring the draft A worksheet, sources and current project to your first lesson back. |
| 7 Oct 2026 09:30–10:25 | Check the research and brief, then develop the B design task. | Finish the two focused preparation worksheets by 7 October. Use existing work and fill gaps. |
| 8 Oct 2026 09:30–10:25 | Organise and strengthen A Audit the A evidence against all four strands. Fill the most important research gaps and write the final brief. | Finish that block between lessons. Keep your A/B evidence and project files together. |
| 14 Oct 2026 09:30–10:25 | Develop and justify B Refine the requirements and alternatives. Explain your choice with evidence, not just preference. | Finish that block between lessons. Keep your A/B evidence and project files together. |
| 15 Oct 2026 09:30–10:25 | Finish your written choice Finish the short requirements, options, and choice notes. Check that they match your current project. No planning drawings are required. | Finish that block between lessons. Keep your A/B evidence and project files together. |
| 20 October · 20:00 China time | Final submission cutoff for this class. | Complete A/B folder, source and AI-use records, and the matching project files. |

Part B update: four requirements, two possible solutions, and one justified choice. Reuse existing research. No planning drawings are required.
Your teacher awards one best-fit level from 0 to 8 for A and another for B. The strands guide the judgement; they are not four separate two-point summative marks. Worksheet totals are not averaged to calculate these levels. The rubrics are task-specific clarifications of the school’s MYP assessment approach, not a replacement for the applicable IB criteria.
No planning drawings are required for this revised task. The existing B rubric still includes B.iv, which asks for planning drawings or diagrams. These short responses provide evidence mainly for B.i–iii; a written component description does not automatically demonstrate B.iv. Your teacher will clarify how any existing evidence is considered. Do not create extra drawings for this revision.
