Refine your strongest logo and record the colours, type and variations that make your brand consistent.

Your task today

Turn your logo into a consistent identity

Keep your strongest logo direction. Refine the version you selected after testing rather than starting again.

Go to the steps ↓
  1. 01

    Refine the logo

Check spacing, balance, letter shapes and colour. Remove detail that becomes unclear at small sizes. Record the biggest improvement in your handout.

  2. 02

    Prepare the versions

Make a full-colour version, a black version and a white or reversed version for dark backgrounds. Add a simplified icon if it suits your logo.

  3. 03

    Test size and background

Check the versions at small size and on light and dark backgrounds. Record which tests succeed. If something fails, explain what you change.

  4. 04

    Write the brand rules

Record your three brand words, two or three colours with hex codes, and one or two typefaces. Explain how the choices communicate the intended identity.

  5. 05

    Assemble the mini guide

Put the logo versions, colour codes, typefaces and brand words on one clean page. A reader should be able to apply these rules to a new item.

  6. 06

    Ask a partner and export

Ask which logo is most recognizable, whether the pieces feel like one brand, which brand word is strongest and what remains inconsistent. Refine, save the editable files and export clean versions.

Complete the handout as you work

Completed handout, refined logo versions, small-size/background checks and the one-page mini brand guide. Keep editable files and exports together in the specific Toddle assignment.

The handout records your decisions. A finished-looking product by itself does not show that reasoning.
