Bring the research and design together

Reuse Research your brand audience (Worksheet 1) and Plan your business card (Worksheet 2). Keep the existing research, three card alternatives, chosen card, and labeled card plan. Do not make replacement cards or three new letterhead designs.

Final submission: 19 October at 20:00 China time. Your current project is the starting point.

Finish your brand: one new letterhead

Keep your existing logo and chosen business card. Make one coordinated A4 letterhead that uses the same brand style and leaves room for a real letter.

Due Monday, October 19, 2026 at 20:00 China time.

What the finished product needs

  1. Keep the existing brand. Use your current logo and chosen business card. Carry the same colors, fonts, and logo style into the letterhead. Refine the card only if a real problem needs fixing.
  2. Make one usable A4 letterhead. Include the logo, brand name, and fictional contact details. Leave clear margins and a large writing area. Add a short sample greeting and sentence to check the space; no full letter is required.
  3. Keep the layout editable. Use software you already have. Keep text and layout editable and save a readable PDF or image export. An AI image may be an asset, but a flat image alone is not an editable layout. No new account, paid software, or printing is required.
  4. Check the set together. View the card and letterhead side by side. Check spelling, readability at actual size, spacing, and consistent brand choices. Correct problems before exporting.

Plan for one week of focused work. Reuse the last two worksheets and existing project files; add only missing evidence or short notes about real changes. No new research report, separate evidence index, or rewritten answers are required.

Start: review your existing plan. Middle: make the final product. End: check the files and submit. Use the remaining lessons and short work sessions at home; the deadline stays October 19.

The existing assessment remains Criterion A /8 and Criterion B /8. Use the worksheets to explain research and design decisions. The finished product supports that evidence; Criterion C is not added. The existing rubric band descriptions remain unchanged.

Open the ZIP in a new folder. Confirm that the editable files and readable exports open and match. Use fictional contact details. Keep your earlier versions.

Between meetings, finish the part you started and keep your evidence organised. If your last meeting is before 19 October, use the remaining time for your final check and upload.

Reuse your worksheets: short evidence checklist

The task numbers below locate evidence in your two existing worksheets. Keep adequate work and original dates. Add a short note, label, or file/page reference only where evidence is missing or the final design changed.

A

Inquiring and analysing

Maximum 8 points

A.i · The user and the need

Worksheet 1, task 1: keep the named audience, need, and real dated comment or observation. Add one sentence only if the letterhead introduces a new need.

A.ii · Research decisions

Worksheet 1, task 2: reuse the three prioritized questions, methods, and sources. Identify primary evidence (your observation/interview) and secondary evidence (published examples), adding a label only if unclear. Keep the priority explanation; do not repeat completed research.

A.iii · Existing examples

Worksheet 1, task 3: reuse the three brand comparisons and source credits. Use their findings about color, type, spacing, or logo placement; add only a missing point for the letterhead.

A.iv · Findings and design direction

Worksheet 1, task 4: keep the research-based brief. Add a short note about how the existing brand rules will guide the letterhead if that is not already clear.

B

Developing ideas

Maximum 8 points

B.i · Success requirements

Worksheet 2, task 1: keep the four checkable requirements and research links. Adapt a requirement if needed to check brand consistency and usable letter-writing space; no new five-item list.

B.ii · Possible solutions

Worksheet 2, task 2: keep the three existing card alternatives and their labels. These show your design options; three new cards or letterhead alternatives are not required.

B.iii · Chosen design

Worksheet 2, task 3: keep the card choice, advantage, trade-off, and genuine feedback. Add one or two sentences explaining how the letterhead continues that choice.

B.iv · Planning drawings

Worksheet 2, task 4: keep the card plan. Add one small labeled letterhead sketch or annotated draft showing A4 size, margins, writing area, logo, fonts/colors, and needed files. No polished drawing is required.

Keep the scope manageable

Reuse Research your brand audience (Worksheet 1) and Plan your business card (Worksheet 2). Keep the existing research, three card alternatives, chosen card, and labeled card plan. Do not make replacement cards or three new letterhead designs.

The existing assessment remains Criterion A /8 and Criterion B /8. Use the worksheets to explain research and design decisions. The finished product supports that evidence; Criterion C is not added. The existing rubric band descriptions remain unchanged.

Grading rubrics

Your teacher awards one best-fit level from 0 to 8 for A and another for B. The strands guide the judgement; they are not four separate two-point summative marks. Worksheet totals are not averaged to calculate these levels. The rubrics are task-specific clarifications of the school’s MYP assessment approach, not a replacement for the applicable IB criteria.

Criterion A · / 8

MYP Design Year 3 Objectives · Task-specific clarification

LevelWhat the evidence shows
0The submitted evidence does not yet demonstrate the achievement described in the 1–2 band.
1–2The work names a possible need for a coordinated logo, business card and letterhead and records a small amount of research. The audience, research decisions and useful findings are still difficult to identify.
3–4The need and audience are outlined. Some research questions or sources are identified with guidance. An existing example is described and some findings are recorded, but the connection to a useful project direction is incomplete.
5–6The user need is explained. Research priorities and methods are mostly clear. The discussion of existing examples identifies useful features and their effects. Findings support a coherent direction for personal brand system, although some evidence links or reasoning need more detail.
7–8The brand need is explained for a named audience. The research priorities are sensible and supported. Comparisons explain how visual choices work across formats. The brief uses those findings to guide a coordinated logo, card and letterhead.

Criterion B · / 8

MYP Design Year 3 Objectives · Task-specific clarification

LevelWhat the evidence shows
0The submitted evidence does not yet demonstrate the achievement described in the 1–2 band.
1–2A few basic requirements and one understandable idea are present. Planning drawings contain limited information, so the intended solution is difficult for another person to interpret.
3–4Some relevant requirements and possible ideas are shown. The chosen direction is identified with a simple reason. Drawings show part of the solution, but important labels, relationships or practical requirements are missing.
5–6Requirements fit the user need. Different feasible ideas for personal brand system are understandable. Reasons for the chosen design refer to requirements. Drawings and a resource list communicate the solution, with some details or justification still needing clarification.
7–8Requirements explain how the brand stays consistent across formats. Different feasible directions are clearly shown. The selection uses the requirements and explains an important trade-off. Labelled card and letterhead plans communicate size, hierarchy, logo use and the files needed.

Submit by 19 October at 20:00 China time

By October 19 at 20:00 China time, upload one ZIP to the Personal brand system assessment in Toddle. Include the existing logo and chosen card files, the new editable letterhead and a readable export, and the two existing worksheets with brief updates. Keep the existing mini brand guide if you have one; otherwise label the colors and fonts on the letterhead plan. Do not create another report.

AI is allowed. Include your actual prompts and follow-up/revision prompts as copied text or screenshots, with matching versions where useful. Briefly note what you kept or changed and how you checked it. Add this to your existing worksheet evidence; no separate essay. If unused, write “No AI used”. Credit borrowed assets. Do not submit public chat-share links, account details, or private personal information; never invent research or results.

Keep the A and B sections easy to find. Check that your screenshots, diagrams and submitted project files show the same version. Your own decisions must be clear, including when AI helped.
